About Ilfres
Battery-powered lawn equipment, and the one category we sell. Robot mowers, cordless walk-behinds and a zero-turn rider — plus straight answers about which battery platform you are committing to.
01 Who we are
Ilfres is an online store in Fontana, California selling battery-powered lawn equipment: robot mowers, cordless walk-behind mowers, a cordless zero-turn rider, and the batteries and chargers that run them.
We stock one category and we stock it properly. That is the whole idea. A general store that happens to carry a mower cannot tell you whether a 4.0Ah pack will finish your lawn, or which of two identical-looking Greenworks batteries fits the tool you already own. We can, because it is the only thing we sell.

02 What we sell
Four brands, chosen because each one is the strongest answer to a different kind of lawn.
- DREAME — robot mowersWire-free LiDAR navigation, no perimeter wire to bury. The A3 AWD Pro 3500 is all-wheel-drive and rated for up to 0.87 acre, which puts genuinely large properties within reach of a robot for the first time.
- ECOVACS — robot mowersThe GOAT A2000 LiDAR PRO uses dual LiDAR navigation and cuts a proper edge, which is the job robot mowers have historically been worst at.
- EGO POWER+ — cordless walk-behind mowers21-inch self-propelled mowers on the 56V platform, including the Select Cut LM2134SP-2 with its interchangeable cutting stack. Sold with batteries and charger included.
- Greenworks — the widest range21-inch and 25-inch self-propelled mowers, the 48V yard-tool combo with trimmer and blower, and the 60V 42-inch CrossoverZ zero-turn rider for properties where a walk-behind stops making sense.
Everything is new and in original manufacturer packaging, sourced through legitimate supply channels. No used, no refurbished, no grey-market imports. Where a mower is listed with batteries and a charger, the listing says exactly which packs and what capacity — because that is most of what you are paying for.
03 The battery question, answered honestly
The battery platform matters more than the mower.A mower lasts years. The platform you commit to decides what every future purchase costs you.
This is the single most expensive mistake people make in this category, so here it is in plain terms:
EGO — one platform, no traps
Every EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery fits every EGO 56V tool and charger. Buy a mower today and a blower in two years, and the packs move between them. There is one system and nothing to get wrong.
Greenworks — voltage must match exactly
Greenworks runs several platforms that look alike and are not interchangeable. A 60V battery will not power an 80V tool, and an 80V battery will not power a 60V tool. The 24V, 40V, 60V and 80V lines are separate systems with separate chargers.
One detail catches people out in particular: the 48V yard combo runs on two 24V batteries in tandem, not on a 48V pack. So if you buy that combo and later buy the 60V 25-inch mower, you own two battery systems that share nothing — not a pack, not a charger.
That is not a reason to avoid Greenworks. Their range is the broadest we carry and the CrossoverZ has no real equivalent. It is a reason to pick your voltage once and stay on it.
Not sure which platform you are already on? Send us a photograph of the battery you own — the label with the voltage and model number is enough — and we will tell you what it fits before you buy anything. That email costs you nothing and it has saved people several hundred dollars.
One more thing worth knowing
Volts and amp-hours measure different things. Voltage is roughly how hard the tool can work; amp-hours is how long it runs before recharging. A higher-voltage mower with a small pack can easily run out before a lower-voltage one with a big pack. When you tell us your lawn size, the amp-hours are the number we are actually thinking about.
04 Which mower suits your lawn
There is no best mower here, only the right one for a particular property. Roughly how it breaks down:
- Small to medium lawn, and you would rather not mow at all — a robot mower. It cuts a little every day, so there are no clippings to bag and no Saturday morning spent on it. Wire-free LiDAR models mean no perimeter wire to bury, which used to be the miserable part of owning one.
- Up to about a third of an acre, and you do not mind mowing — a 21-inch self-propelled cordless mower. Quiet, no fuel, no oil, starts on a button. Self-propelled matters more than people expect on any slope.
- A third to about three quarters of an acre — a 25-inch deck, or a 21-inch with a second battery so you are not waiting on a charger halfway through.
- Around an acre or more, or a lot of obstacles to steer around — the 42-inch zero-turn. It is a different class of machine and it turns an afternoon into a short job.
- A large property you still would rather not mow — the DREAME A3 AWD Pro 3500, rated to 0.87 acre with all-wheel drive for sloped and uneven ground.
These are starting points, not rules. Slope, wet grass, thick St. Augustine, tree roots and how often you actually mow all move the answer. Tell us your lawn size and what the ground is like and we will give you a straight recommendation — including telling you when the cheaper machine is the right one.
What battery mowers are genuinely better at
No gas to store, no oil to change, no fuel stabiliser before winter, no pull cord, and quiet enough to mow early without annoying anyone. They also start reliably in spring, which is the single most common complaint about the gas mower they replaced.
And where they are not
Runtime is finite. A large lawn on one small battery means stopping to charge. Very tall or wet grass drains a pack faster than the rating suggests. And a battery is a consumable — it will hold less charge after several years, which is exactly why the platform question above matters.
05 How we decide what to stock
We would rather carry a short list we can stand behind than a long one we cannot. Before something goes on the site:
- The battery platform has to have a future. A tool on a platform the manufacturer is quietly retiring is a tool you cannot buy a pack for in three years.
- Parts and service have to exist. Blades, wheels, filters, firmware. A mower is a machine with wear items, not a sealed appliance.
- The specifications have to survive checking. We read the manufacturer's documentation, not the supplier's sales sheet. Where the two disagree, the documentation wins — and the sales sheet tells us something about the supplier.
- It has to survive shipping. A mower that arrives damaged one time in ten is a bad product however good it is in the box.
When something fails one of these after we have listed it, we stop selling it.
06 Delivery
These are heavy machines, so delivery is not one-size-fits-all and we would rather set the expectation correctly than surprise you.
- Robot mowers, batteries and chargers ship by standard parcel carrier with tracking.
- Walk-behind mowers ship boxed by parcel carrier. They are large and heavy, so the carrier may require someone present.
- The zero-turn rider ships by freight, on a pallet. The freight company calls you to arrange a delivery appointment, and it arrives on a truck with a lift gate. Plan for someone to be home and for space to get it off the pallet.
The shipping method and cost for whatever is in your cart are shown at checkout before you pay. Nothing is added afterwards. Our Shipping Policy has the detail, and if you want to know exactly how a specific machine will arrive at your address, ask us before you order.
If a parcel goes quiet in transit, we chase the carrier rather than telling you to. If one is confirmed lost, we replace or refund it straight away — we do not wait to be reimbursed first.
07 Returns
You have 30 days from delivery to return an item, and there is no restocking fee.
You are also entitled to actually look at what you bought — open the box, check the model, fit the battery, confirm it is the machine you meant to order. That is inspection, not use, and it does not cost you your refund.
Being straight about one thing: once a mower has cut grass, it is a used mower. We cannot take a grass-stained deck back as new, and nobody in this trade can. That is precisely why we would rather spend ten minutes on email getting your size and platform right than process a return neither of us wanted.
If the fault is ours — damaged in transit, defective, wrong item — none of it costs you anything: we arrange and pay for the return, refund the original shipping, and send a replacement without waiting for the first one to come back. Our Refund & Return Policy sets out the full detail, including how large items are collected.
08 A few things we will not do
- We will not claim partnerships we do not have. We sell machines made by DREAME, ECOVACS, EGO and Greenworks. Using their names to say what we stock is not the same as being their authorized dealer, and we will not blur that line.
- We will not quote a runtime we cannot support. Battery runtime depends on grass height, moisture, slope and blade condition. Any store quoting one number for your lawn is guessing.
- We will not invent urgency. No fake stock counters, no timers that reset when you reload the page.
- We will not write our own reviews. A product with no reviews yet shows no reviews.
- We will not add a charge after checkout. The total you see before paying — machine, tax, shipping — is what you pay.
- We will not sell your personal information for money. Where advertising cookies count as sharing it under California law, we say so openly in our Privacy Policy and give you three ways to switch it off.
09 Ask us before you buy
Tell us your lawn size, roughly what the ground is like, and which battery platform you are already on if any. We will tell you which machine fits — including when the cheaper one is the right answer.
